Progress on Dracula, Part 4

I think Renfield is actually making me nauseous.
The idea of catching flies, feeding them to spiders, feeding those spiders to sparrows, and then (planning) to feed those to a cat is like an ouroboros of disgusting. And him eating the sparrows (raw, perhaps while they were still alive) is absolutely terrifying. I like Dr. Seward's term "zoophagus maniac" for him. This consumption of life parallels Dracula's, and it makes sense that Renfield will want to make himself subservient to the only creature that could eat him.
