bunnyboo: A portrait of Mary Shelley (shelley)
Hi, everyone! [personal profile] cornerofmadness commented on my "Finished Frankenstein" post with a link to a really cool concept album by Valentine Wolfe based on the work of Mary Shelley (with Frankenstein being heavily featured as inspiration).

Here's the link to their official YouTube playlist for the album, and here's the link to their website where you can play the full album for free! I've also included a video embed below to my favorite track, "Victor's Confession".

Thanks again to [personal profile] cornerofmadness for letting me know about this awesome album!

Hello, everyone! I think there's just one more challenge, so let's do this thing! Today's challenge is:

One of the exciting parts of transformative works is taking something created in one medium, and shifting it into another. Some remix and big bang challenges do this directly by having options to draw art from fic, or write fic based on art, but those are just a two of the many options.

In your own space, remix an existing work into a new media, and/or rec three or more remixes that do the same.

Huh, this is interesting! I can only think of two of these off the top of my head, so I'll have to look some up!

I cannot recommend Hiimdaisy's Persona 4 Comic Dub enough. It's a comic dub based on a comic based on a video game. That's a remix for ya! (Original work - Persona 4/Persona 4 Comic)

I am also really into Bardcore. I know it's a dead meme, but I love hearing my favorite music reimagined as pseudo-medieval songs. Check out the bardcore Bloody Stream by Medieval Otaku here!

Hm, now that I think about it, the animation collaboration video of Oneyplays' LotR DOS game footage is a remix! It's a lot of fun just from an animation standpoint, though I will admit that the actual audio is loud and may be obnoxious to some people. Give it a shot if you'd like!

Oh, this one's a tough one. Today's challenge is:

In your own space, create a fanwork.

Fanwork means anything that you, a fan, creates. If you say it’s a fanwork, then it is! But if you want some suggestions, why not see if one of your fav fanworks creators has a transformative works statement? Many people (me included) have them on their profiles, either here on Dreamwidth or on AO3. Then go crazy! Make art, make fic, make a podfic, make a vid, make a cross-stitch pattern. Crochet, knit. Bake a cake! An interpretive dance of how it makes you feel! Anything!

Uh, icons? Yes, icons are good. This is my first time sharing these with others, so please let me know if there's any issues - quality or otherwise! These are all band album covers, other than the stock image at the end. The artists have been properly attributed. If you decide to use these, please let me know and please save them to your computer to upload them instead of hotlinking to these.

4) Marina and the Diamonds - The Family Jewels
5) Paramore - Riot
6) Dolly Parton - Coat of Many Colors
7) Dolly Parton - Super Hits II

Feel free to remix these, recolor them, print them out and burn them, whatever you'd like! I'd prefer credit, but none of these are my work so it's not necessary. If you'd like to credit me, please just link to my account like this - [personal profile] bunnyboo

Hello again! Here's another part of the Snowflake Challenge. (The second challenge was to interact with someone new, which I did.) The third challenge is:

In your own space, tell us who, from one of your fandoms, would you most want to have dinner with (or tea, or a random afternoon visit), And why? This could be a creator, an actor, a costumer, a set designer, a director, a character, a composer, anybody! What would you talk about? What are you dying to know? Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I'd love to meet Dolly Parton (not really a fandom, but indulge me). She seems like such a sweet lady and is really dedicated to the cause of children's literacy. If I had to pick an "actual" fandom, I would like to meet LeVar Burton. Again, he seems really nice, is involved with children's literacy (a personal passion of mine, if you haven't guessed), and I grew up watching him on Reading Rainbow! I can't help but think good things about him, and it'd be really awesome to meet him one day.

Again, if you'd like to participate in this challenge, checkout the snowflake_challenge community!
