bunnyboo: Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tara)

Guess who’s back—back again. Guess who’s back. Tell a friend. I won’t link the music video here because I like to keep things pretty PG here, but I hope I got that stuck in your heads. My actual mood is less celebratory than my song quote implies, but I’m… okay. Just dealing with a new and apparently chronic condition that sprung up on me this past week. It’s been a journey, let me tell you that.

Anyways, I finished Buffy season four about a week ago. It was a lot of fun!

Hi, everyone! Sorry I've been absent lately. Between the nasty weather, a break from work, and my first dose of the COVID vaccine (yay!), I've just been distracted. Happy belated Valentine's Day to all!

I finished season three a few days ago but just haven't had the time to do a post.

Hiya! This is a little late coming, but I've been having trouble with my wrists and shoulders again so I've avoided using the computer outside of work. (...When you see me post, it's almost 100% at work, shh!)

Well, I'd go into more detail, but then I'd have a chunk missing out of my season recap! See you then, and stay warm!

Hello, and good morning (or night... or afternoon...)! Today's challenge is:

In your own space, create a wishlist. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Your wishlist can be anything between one and ten wishes as a rough guide.

Have you ever wished for icons for a character(s) or a fandom; art for a story, podfic or fanmix you’ve created; a podfic for a story you’ve written; or a story for some artwork you’ve created? Do you have a plotbunny you’d like someone to adopt?

Maybe you'd like to find more people to squee with over your favourite fandom; or someone to collaborate with over a project? If you are new to a fandom would you like some story recs, or communities to join? Or would you like some recommendations for a new fandom?

Or is there something else you would like? If so, this is your opportunity to ask!

A wishlist? Hm... If I had to make a list...
  1. Icon recs (or creation[!]) for Buffy - specifically Giles and Faith so I can have a new icon for each Bingin' Buffy post!
  2. Someone to share my love of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure with!
  3. Suggestions for new video game essays to read - anything and everything is alright!
  4. Suggestions for doll-related blogs or youtubers! I would prefer BJDs, but I also like hearing about playline dolls too.

I think that's about it. Thank you for reading, and stay safe and well!

bunnyboo: Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (xander)
My first full season of Buffy, and wow - what highs and lows.

Well, I'm kinda stuck with the show now. Let's see where it goes. :)

I've caught up! The challenges are every other day, so you'll see another post Saturday. Onto the challenge! The fourth challenge (with the little introduction this time for context) is:

"A goal is defined as the object of a person's ambition or effort. For this challenge, you are to make a goal or two or, well, as many as you wish to. Do you want to write that fanfic that has been on your mind? Make that essay on the meta of your favorite fandom? Learn a new language? Read your stack of To Be Read books? Finally watch every episode of every version of The Twilight Zone? Since this can be a bit personal, you can, as always, simply keep your journal locked and comment that you did it."

In your own space, create some goals. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Hm... some fannish goals? I'd like to finish Buffy season two and post my thoughts about it. I've enjoyed doing those posts because it's a nice way to organize my thoughts and share my reaction with other, more knowledgeable fans. (I hesitated on saying "older" because longer time fans may actually be younger than me!)

Another goal, non-fandom this time, would be to dust my bookshelves again. They're so empty after I decluttered...

Finally, if you'd like to participate in the Snowflake challenge, you can join and do as much or as little as you like - see the challenges and read the introductions here!
bunnyboo: Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (willow)
Hello, friends and neighbors! I've been making my way through season two of Buffy and wanted to share my thoughts.

Overall, I think this season has been much more consistent in its writing. There's less strictly "silly" episodes, and the dramatic ones are definitely an improvement. The characters are more realized, have settled into their roles, and are starting to develop.

I was initially going to post this after the two-parter, as that seemed like an appropriate place chronologically and dramatically, but something about the Amazon Prime description of "Buffy's mother dates a computer salesman" was just irresistible so I added 2x11 - "Ted" too.

bunnyboo: Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (buffy)
I'd run out of shows to watch until a coworker suggested Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The humor has been ruined for me somewhat by Whedon seepage over the years, and the sexual menacing Buffy experiences is disturbingly frequent. But I'm enjoying it overall in a goofy, late 90s way.

...Can we just talk about how dreamy 90s David Boreanaz is? Like damn.
