Austen is an acquired taste, that's for sure. I bounced hard off of Emma recently too and it was a rough ride for a while. Some people treat reading classic literature as a requirement for intelligence, but I don't agree. If it doesn't speak to you, it doesn't speak to you. I have a weird thing with Little Women where it's a terrible slog for me to get through too!
