Ironically, I DNF The Hobbit in grade school, but got through both FotR and TTT in high school, then lost my copy of RotK and never bothered to replace it. I remember skipping large chunks of narrative description. Then, ten years ago my husband and I watched all the Special Edition extended movies, and he got the full bookset (including The Silmarillion, woo!). I read a few chapters of FotR and forgot to come back to it. (I think my bookmark is still in it... #_#)
Anyway, the point of all this rambling is that it will be nice to vicariously relive the readings through you!
